The City of Willow Park water system PWS ID 1840027 has violated the monitoring and reporting requirements set by Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ) in Title 30, Texas Administrative Code(30 TAC), section 291, Subchapter F. Public water systems are required to properly disinfect water before distribution, maintain acceptable disinfection residuals within the distribution system, monitor the disinfectant residual at various locations throughout the distribution system, and report the results of that monitoring to the TCEQ on a quarterly basis. Results of regular monitoring are an indicator of whether or not your drinking water is safe from microbial contamination.

This/These violation(s) occurred in the monitoring period(s) of the 3rd quarter. The violation was that the report was turned in late.

We are making sure that the required report will be turned in on a timely matter going forward. If you have any question regarding the matter, you may contact the Director of Public Works at 817-441-7708.

*** ATTENTION PLEASE ***

In an effort to improve security, accounting procedures and productivity, the City of Willow Park will no longer accept cash for services. This means bills, citations, fees and other payments to the City of Willow Park will only be accepted with a check, money order, and credit or debit card.

City officials hope going cashless is not too much of an inconvenience, but Willow Park also has online payment systems set up for the water department and municipal court, so people could pay while at home or work.

There are three overriding factors contributed to the decision to not accept cash: simplicity, security, and timing.

In terms of security, there is less of a worry about cash floating around city hall and it makes bookkeeping and keeping track of bank deposits a lot simpler.

Cash is inefficient. “It is expensive (and dirty) to handle cash - you have a natural loss; you have to pay staff to count, deposit, and reconcile it; and it increases transaction times,” No cash means no traveling to and from the bank. Plus, not handling money could make City Hall safer.

The improved procedures will be effective January 1, 2017 to allow customers to adapt to the updated payment policies.
